1963 SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE TALENT CONTEST. ‘ Headliner of the Year’ ( with John London)
‘ It was the first year college talent contest. They asked me if I wanted to be in it and I said ‘Yes!’. Then they asked me to emcee as well. I was disappointed because if I was emcee it would take me out of the running. But to my everlasting surprise I won !’. MN.
1967. EMMY AWARDS ( with the Monkees)
The TV series The Monkees wins ‘ Outstanding Comedy Series’, presented to Bert and Bob as creators. Director Jim Frawley wins ‘Outstanding Directorial Achievement In Comedy’ for the episode Royal Flush.
1968 . BMI POP AWARDS. Nez is given this for The Stone Poneys’ rendition of “Different Drum,”
1976 BMI COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. “I’ve Never Loved Anyone More,”which he co-wrote with fellow BMI songwriter Linda Hargrove for Lynn Anderson is named ‘SONG OF THE YEAR’
1982 GRAMMY AWARDS( with William Dear)
Elephant Parts won Video of the Year in the newly created section for long form videos. The award was reserved for “video cassettes or discs in any format created specifically for the home video market.”
1982 BAM MAGAZINE Voted Elephant Parts ‘Best Video’.
1983 FANTAFESTIVAL ( in Rome)( with William Dear) Awarded Timerider ‘Best Screenplay’.
1984 AMERICAN VIDEO ASSOCIATION Nez is inducted into their Hall of Fame.
1987 MUSEUM OF MODERN ART Inducts ‘Elephant Parts’.
1989. HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME The Monkees received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on July 10, 1989.
1995 GRAMMY AWARDS The Garden is nominated for Best New Age Album. ( but doesn’t win )
1995 RHINO RECORDS At the Hard Rock Cafe in NY The Monkees are presented with Platinum records for the sales of their first 5 albums.
2007 SOUTH TEXAS WALK OF FAME Adds a star for Nez. ( Located one block from the bay in down town Corpus Christi )
2007 THE VOCAL GROUP HALL OF FAME In Pennsylvania inducts The Monkees.
2010 AUSTIN FILM SOCIETY At their 10th anniversary Nez is given the ‘ Warren Skaaren Lifetime Achievement Award’. The event honours Texans who have made a significant contribution to the film and media industry.
2012 RHINO RECORDS Present The Monkees with gold records for the ‘Best of the Monkees’ album at the Greek Theatre.
2014 THE AMERICAN POP MUSIC HALL OF FAME The Monkees are inducted at the Monkees Convention.
2016 THE MUSIC BUSINESS ASSOCIATION The Monkees are recognised with an ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award.
2016 THE VIDEO ASSOCIATION OF DALLAS Nez is presented with ‘The Ernie Kovac’s Award’ for his efforts as a video pioneer and his contribution to comedy.
